Travel Connect recognized by The Icelandic Equality Scale

We’re proud that Travel Connect has been recognised for gender equality by Jafnvægisvogin (The Equality Scale) for the second year in a row.

The Equality Scale works to position Icelandic businesses as global leaders in gender equality. The organisation has set an ambitious goal: by 2027, at least 40% of executive board positions across Icelandic companies should be held by each gender.

To achieve this, the Equality Scale tracks and analyses leadership representation across Iceland's business sector, publishing comprehensive findings annually. The organisation also hosts events and educational programmes to promote the value of diversity and balance in business leadership. Each year, the Equality Scale recognises and awards companies that meet its equality benchmarks, highlighting those leading the way toward gender-balanced leadership.

This recognition reflects Travel Connect’s ongoing commitment to balanced leadership. Equality is a decision we make every day in every hiring conversation, every promotion discussion, and every leadership opportunity.

Following the award ceremony, Ylfa Thordarson, our CIO, and Kristín Halldóra Halldórsdóttir, our Sustainability Coordinator, represented Travel Connect at the tree-planting ceremony in the Heiðmörk conservation area’s Equality Forest. This ceremony was a symbolic reminder that equality, like nature, needs ongoing care and attention to thrive.
